Souper Bowl of Caring a Great Success
The Super Bowl may or may not have turned out the way you wanted, but the Souper Bowl of Caring definitely turned out great! Once again the generosity of Christ United Methodist Church was evident on Sunday, February 3. The teams of Youth collected pocket change and dollar bills from our congregation after each service. The buckets starting filling up quickly and contributions totalled $2,270, which is almost $1,000 more than last year. The Samaritan Inn, the only homeless shelter in Collin County, will be the beneficiary of the money. The Disciples Adult Sunday School Class furnishes meals on a regular basis throughout the year to the Samaritan Inn. A special thank you to every person who donated, for the youth that collected the money and to Ernest Hornay who coordinated this effort.
